Welcome

Best Show ever!

The 2011 Suffolk Show was the biggest and best ever attracting around 90,000 visitors over two glorious days of celebrating the best of Suffolk’s agricultural trade, skilled craftsmen and local produce.

The Showground bustled with visitors, traders and prize-winning livestock. More than 650 trade stands meant show-goers were kept busy between being entertained by amazing ring displays.

A number of one off events and new features contributed to making the Show extra special. HRH the Princess Royal spent several hours at the Show on the Wednesday and as a tremendous supporter of county shows made everyone she was introduced to extra special.  The new Greene King Eat Street, an avenue featuring local food producers, seating and band stand was extremely popular. For the first time the Show hosted the International Red Poll Cattle Society Congress and also for the first time the British Percheron Horse Society amalgamated their breed show with Suffolk Show. The Show was also selected for the first time as a qualifier for both the Horse of the Year Show and Olympia. The Suffolk Sports Village was bigger than ever and focused on the exciting build up to the 2012 Olympics. Ipswich Town Football Club celebrated the 30th anniversary of winning the UEFA cup and players from the winning team paraded the cup in the Grand Ring.

The army air corps from Wattisham pulled out all the stops with their amazing military display featuring Apache and Lynx helicopters, abseiling stunts and a ‘rescue mission.’

Street entertainment act, the amazing 8 foot walking, talking, singing Titan the Robot was a great hit with the crowds.

Top chefs served up culinary tips in the cookery theatre, while the Flower and Garden Experience drew people in with a heady combination of 145 arrangement class entries and four exhibits straight from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

This year’s Show will be held on Thursday 7th & Friday 8th June 2012.

Put the dates in your diary! We look forward to seeing you in June.
