2010 BALE Award Competition

Do you have the best farming diversification business in East Anglia?  The SAA, in partnership with Ashton Graham, is about to launch the 2010 Best Alternative Land Enterprise Competition (BALE), the region’s premier farming diversification competition. A top prize of £1000 to be spent on the enterprise is offered to the winner.

SAA’s Trinity Totties go pink in the Race for Life

Within the pink trail of more than 1500 runners and walkers around Trinity Park last week hoping to raise more than £105,000 for Cancer Research UK were a team of six from the SAA office who called themselves “Trinity Totties”, who completed the 5km Race for Life  and raised almost £700 for the cancer charity

The Suffolk Agricultural Association warmly welcomes new members. Our current membership come from all walks of life but share a common purpose; a desire to enable current and future generations to gain a greater appreciation of food, farming and the countryside.

Members enjoy many exclusive benefits on Show days and throughout the year. In addition, you can be sure in the knowledge that your subscription is being used to help fund a range of agricultural education programmes.

Over recent years the SAA has expanded its education programme running a number of key events which enhance agricultural education in Suffolk designed to complement the national curriculum. The School Farm & Country Fair is held each April and attracts over 3,500 primary school pupils and their teachers to experience, at first hand, food, farming and the countryside. This is complemented by the School Farm Links Project, twinning local schools with local farms, and by the Suffolk Schools Competition.

A programme of specialist conferences is also organised, focusing on key agricultural issues and attracting distinguished speakers from within the industry. Members enjoy priority booking and preferential rates at our conferences.
