Education

The Suffolk Agricultural Association aims to raise the profile of the food and farming industry to the general public and to act as a route for communication between the Association, its members, the farming and non-farming communities and schools.

This Association is committed to working with teachers and young people to enhance their understanding of food, farming and related countryside businesses. Programmes such as the School Farm Link Project, the Schools Competition and the School Farm Fair offer exciting opportunities for younger children to gain an understanding of agricultural and countryside issues. In addition to these established schemes we are working on new initiatives, meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum, aimed at older school and college students.

Please contact Hannah Woods Show & Education Officer.

The first Student Food and Farming Day jointly run by the Suffolk Agricultural Association, Otley College, the Suffolk Education Business Partnership Ltd and Hollow Trees Farm, was hailed an outstanding success by the organisers.

My Juice fruit smoothies

This event was held on Wednesday 2nd July 2008 and was organised by the Suffolk Education Business Partnership and the Suffolk Agricultural Association to help and encourage young people into the industry by enabling them to meet professionals from within the food & drink industry.
