SAA’s Trinity Totties go pink in the Race for Life
The idea to get their running shoes on came from accounts administrator Vicki Wilson whose mum and sister have had to come to terms with cancer and she dedicated her run to them. Others have friends and relations whose lives have been devastated by the illness. The Trinity Totties are pictured in their bespoke pink T-shirts with their medals. From l-r: Polly Handy, former SAA student intern, Vicki Wilson, receptionist; Hannah Woods, education officer; Linda Sharpe, Events Administrator for Trinity Park; Tina Neill, marketing manager and Paula Slater the tradestand officer.
The girls were delighted to compete and to complete the run as several had previously never done any running. Hannah and Paula buddied up to keep themselves running the distance and thought perhaps more than two weeks’ training might be useful next time.
Each runner had a back label with a message. The run was also poignant for Linda Sharpe who dedicated her walk to the daughter of a friend who is in the middle of her treatment for breast cancer and having a tough time. “My back label read “Go, Bridget, you can do it. We’re all with you,” she said.
“We wanted to do it because it is such a good cause and to support an event at Trinity Park. It was the most fantastic experience; quite moving really; all of us were there for a common cause and the six of us together made it all the more special.”
Lookout for the Trinity Totties taking on more fund-raising challenges throughout the county.
