Flower Show
The Suffolk Show's Flower Show comprises both Trade and Floral Arrangement Exhibits, together with displays of Garden Plans and Demonstration and Refreshment areas.
Each year the Flower Show attracts some 30 local and national, trade and municipal exhibits, providing spectacular and colourful displays of a wide range of plants from around the world. Everything from Bonsai Trees and Bamboos to Roses. A plant 'Crèche' is provided where purchases of plants may be deposited free of charge to be collected later in the day. The Crèche is situated close to the exit of the Flower Show and remains staffed until 6.30pm on each day of the Show.
The Floral Arrangement Competition is made up of fourteen classes, the theme of which is changed each year. It offers classes for experienced competitors as well as newcomers who have never previously entered a competition.
The theme for the 2008 Show will be 'This England', with class titles including 'An Historic Event' - an exhibit to be staged by no more than three members of a Flower Club, 'A Stately Home' - a pedestal exhibit and 'Coastal Scene' - a petite exhibit. There are also three restricted classes - 'A Pantomime', 'Country Life' and 'Party Time', for novices, members of Suffolk Young Farmers? Clubs and Juniors respectively.
